BP LUBRICANTS AMERICAS LAUNCHES CASTROL® GTX ™
DIESEL TO MEET THE NEED OF SMALLER DIESEL ENGINES.
Castrol® GTX™ Diesel is Engineered for Optimum
Performance in Car and Light Truck Diesel
Engines.
Wayne, NJ - March 4, 2005- The revitalization of
diesel engines within the passenger car and light
truck markets means installers, retailers and
consumers will see their engine oil needs change. BP
Lubricants Americas, who continuously sets the
standard for high-performance lubricants, is
launching Castrol® GTX™ Diesel to meet this need.
Many car and light truck manufacturers are launching
diesel engines in the US and experts expect this
category to grow as lighter diesel engines are
available which are more environmentally conscious,
have improved fuel economy and increased horsepower
over the diesel engines of the past. As consumers
look to improve fuel economy, the popularity of
these engines will increase and their engine oil
needs will change.
To prepare installers for this opportunity, BP
Lubricants Americas has launched Castrol® GTX™
Diesel 15w-40 oil for superior lubrication for
passenger cars and light truck diesel engines. C
Castrol® GTX™ Diesel is engineered to protect the
engine from piston deposits, oil thickening and
valve train wear, while minimizing the formation of
engine sludge through the use of anti-wear
additives, anti- oxidants and detergents.
Castrol® GTX™ Diesel 15W-40 is recommended for
Cummins, Navistar, Ford (WSS-M2C171D), Volkswagon
and Mercedes Benz 4-stroke diesel engines where API
CI-4, CH-4, CG-4 is required. Castrol GTX™ Diesel
15W-40 is approved against the Mack EO-M and EO-M+
specifications and meets the performance
requirements of the Cummins CES 20071, 72 and 76
specifications. Castrol® GTX™ Diesel also meets the
engine protection requirements of API SL, SJ and
ILSAC GF-3 for API Certified Gasoline Engine Oils.
